Step 1
Slice the
Lemon (1)
into wedges.
Step 2
In a bowl beat the
Egg (1)
. Add in
All-Purpose Flour (to taste)
and mix with egg and
Baking Powder (1 tsp)
. Keep adding flour until you have a thick but still liquid batter, be careful that the batter does not become a paste. Add in
Salt (to taste)
.
Step 3
Begin to heat up a pan of
Oil (as needed)
. You'll want enough oil to cover the calamari completely so they can fry without touching the bottom of the pan.
Step 4
In another bowl add in
All-Purpose Flour (to taste)
. Next take the
Calamari (to taste)
and season with
Salt (to taste)
then proceed to toss in the flour, then in the egg batter.
Step 5
Once the oil is hot, fry the calamari until golden.
Step 6
Keep frying till golden brown in color. Remove and transfer to a plate with paper towel to drain excess oil.
Step 7
Squeeze some
Lemons (to taste)
on the fried calamari and they are ready! Serve and enjoy!
