Optional:

- Try using white chocolate chips instead of semisweet chips.

- Add ¼ cup pecans or walnuts.

- Add 1 tsp of rum extract or 1 tsp ground chili pepper to spice it up.

- Try using gluten-free flour but add 1⁄4 tsp more baking soda.

Cooking Instructions

Step 1
Heat your oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Step 2
In a medium bowl, sieve the All-Purpose Flour (2 cups) , Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (1/3 cup) , Salt (1/4 tsp) , and Baking Soda (1/4 tsp) ; set aside.
Step 3
In a large bowl, use a spoon or spatula to stir together the Unsalted Butter (3/4 cup) , Truvia® Sweet Complete® Granulated All-Purpose Stevia Leaf Sweetener (1 cup) , Vanilla Extract (1/2 Tbsp) , Egg (1) , and Water (1/4 cup) .
Step 4
Stir the dry flour mixture into the wet mixture one cup at a time, and beat with a mixer on low for a few minutes.
Step 5
Once the dough is well mixed, stir in the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (3/4 cup) .
Step 6
Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons on an ungreased, parchment-lined cookie sheet.
Step 7
Press down to flatten. (Use the bottom of a glass to make 2” circles).
Step 8
Bake for 10 minutes.
Step 9
Cool for 2 minutes on the cookie sheet.
Step 10
Transfer to a rack and cool completely, about 15 minutes.
Step 11
Store in a sealed container.
