Preheat oven 350 degrees F (176 degrees C).
Into the bowl of a stand mixer, add Granulated Sugar (1 3/4 cup), Butter (1 stick), and Margarine (1 stick). Mix until smooth, about 4-5 minutes.
Add Egg (2) one at a time. Continue to mix until well combined.
Add Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon). Mix.
Into a mixing bowl, sift together All-Purpose Flour (2 cup), Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (3/4 cup), Salt (1/2 teaspoon), Baking Soda (1 teaspoon), and Baking Powder (1 teaspoon).
Add half of the dry ingredients into the stand mixer. Mix until just combined. Add the Milk (1 1/3 cup) and mix until just combined. Add the remaining dry ingredients and mix until batter is smooth.
Transfer batter into two greased and floured 7x11-inch cake pans.
Bake for 25-35 minutes.
Allow cakes to cool in their pans for 10 minutes.
Flip cakes out onto a wire rack and allow them to cool completely.
Use Chocolate Frosting (to taste) to decorate as desired. Make sure the cake is completely cool before frosting or the frosting will melt!
