Peel and chop the Onion (1).

Chop the Green Bell Pepper (1 cup).

Into a pot, add Ground Beef (2 lb). Cook until browned, chopping it up with a spoon as you go. Drain the fat from the pot.

Add the onion and pepper. Cook over medium heat until softened slightly.

Add Water (1 cup), Ketchup (2 1/2 cups), Chili Powder (3 Tbsp), Ground Black Pepper (2 tsp), Garlic Powder (2 Tbsp), Onion Powder (2 tsp), Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (as needed), Salt (2 tsp), and Granulated Sugar (8 tsp). Stir to combine.

Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 1 hour, stirring every 10 minutes or so so the bottom doesn't burn.

Serve on hotdogs or as a side.
