Step 1
Combine
Milk (1 cup)
,
Water (1/3 cup)
,
Butter (2 Tbsp)
,
Granulated Sugar (1/4 cup)
and
Active Dry Yeast (1/2 Tbsp)
. In another bowl, combine
All-Purpose Flour (3 1/4 cups)
and
Salt (1/2 Tbsp)
.
Step 2
Make a well in the flour and pour liquid into it. Using a wooden spoon, mix until a slightly shaggy and sticky dough forms.
Step 3
On a well floured surface, knead dough for about five minutes until no longer sticky.
Step 4
Let rise for an hour in a greased bowl covered with plastic wrap.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Step 6
For the filling: combine
Brown Sugar (1/3 cup)
and
Ground Cinnamon (1/2 Tbsp)
. Once dough has risen. Roll out on a floured surface to 1/4″ thickness. Spread
Butter (2 Tbsp)
on top and sprinkle with brown sugar cinnamon.
Step 7
Roll up and pinch sides to hold sugar in. Cut into sixteen pieces.
Step 8
For the topping, finely chop the
Walnuts (1/2 cup)
In a cast iron skillet, melt the
Butter (2 Tbsp)
and stir together the
Brown Sugar (2 Tbsp)
and walnuts. Evenly space buns on top of nut topping. Bake in a 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) oven for 30 minutes.
Step 9
Let it cool for 1 minute.
Step 10
Flip skillet over onto a plate, let cool slightly.
