Into a small bowl, add the Granulated Sugar (1/2 teaspoon), Instant Dry Yeast (1 3/4 teaspoon), and Warm Water (2 tablespoon). Mix evenly and set aside for ten minutes.
Into a large mixing bowl, add the All-Purpose Flour (1 1/2 cup), Salt (1 pinch), Milk (1/2 cup), Water (1/2 cup) and the yeast mixture. Whisk everything together until combined. Cover the bowl with a thin film, and set aside for about an hour
After an hour, add another Water (1/2 cup) with Baking Soda (1/4 teaspoon) and whisk the dough together. Cover that up again and leave it up for about an hour.
On a frying pan greased with some oil spray, put egg rings(plastic or metal) and add 2 tablespoons of the dough mixture into each ring. Cook the crumpets on that side for about five minutes.
Place the crumpets on a separate dish and serve. Enjoy!
