Caramelized Apple Cider Hot Fruit Bake
Caramelized Apple Cider Hot Fruit Bake! Fall's favorite fruit gets even sweeter with a caramelized sugar, chopped nut, spices, and cider topping! No refined sugar added, paleo friendly, easy, and delicious.
4 oz Butter
1/3 cup Coconut Sugar
2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp Ground Nutmeg
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
5 cup Apple
1/2 cup Apple Juice
1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
to taste Coconut Sugar
Slice your Apple. Leave peel on. Place in a large bowl.
In a small pot, combine your Butter, Maple Syrup, Coconut Sugar, Vanilla Extract, Ground Cinnamon and Ground Nutmeg.
Bring to a soft boil and then reduce to low for 5 minutes. Just until it thickens or “caramelizes” a bit.
Next pour your caramelized sugar over your apples in a bowl. Mix thorough, and place apples and caramel in a large casserole dish. Spread out evenly.
Pour the apple Apple Juice and Apple Cider Vinegar mix evenly on top and sprinkle extra Coconut Sugar on top if desired.
Place in oven at 325 degrees F (162 degrees C) for 1 hour or 65 minutes, mix apples half way through baking.
Serve immediately or rewarmed in oven and enjoy!
