Step 1
Slice your
Apples (5 cups)
. Leave peel on. Place in a large bowl.

In a small pot, combine your
Butter (1/2 cup)
,
Maple Syrup (2 Tbsp)
,
Coconut Sugar (1/3 cup)
,
Vanilla Extract (1 tsp)
,
Ground Cinnamon (1/2 Tbsp)
, and
Ground Nutmeg (1 tsp)
. Bring to a soft boil and then reduce to low for 5 minutes. Just until it thickens or “caramelizes” a bit.
Step 3
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (160 degrees C).
Step 4
Next, pour your caramelized sugar over your apples in a bowl. Mix thoroughly, and place apples and caramel in a large casserole dish. Spread out evenly.
Step 5
Mix the
Apple Juice (1/2 cup)
and
Apple Cider Vinegar (1 Tbsp)
and then pour evenly on top. Sprinkle extra
Coconut Sugar (to taste)
on top if desired.
Step 6
Place in the preheated oven 1 hour or 65 minutes. Mix apples half way through baking. Add
Assorted Nuts (to taste)
in last 15 minutes if you want to toast them with the bake.
Step 7
Serve immediately and enjoy! If serving later, place in fridge and then warm in the oven when ready.
