Cooking Instructions
1.
Prepare the teriyaki sauce by combining Water (1/2 cup), Light Soy Sauce (3 Tbsp), Honey (1 Tbsp), Mirin (1 Tbsp), Brown Sugar (2 Tbsp), Corn Starch (4 tsp), and Sriracha (2 tsp).
2.
Bring the sauce ingredients to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir or whisk the sauce until it thickens.
3.
Season the Ground Beef (1 lb) generously with Salt (to taste), Ground Black Pepper (to taste), and Simply Organic Garlic Powder (to taste). Gently place the burger patties on a grill or cast-iron skillet. Allow the burger to sear for about 2 minutes before flipping them over.
4.
Sear the other side for another 1 minute (or longer if you prefer your burgers well done). Baste each side of the burger with the teriyaki sauce while it is still on the grill/skillet. When the burger patties are cooked, set them aside.
5.
Set the Pineapple Ring (1) on the grill or skillet. Grill for 1 minute per side.
6.
To assemble the Teriyaki Burgers, cut each Hamburger Buns (4) into two. Baste the top of each bottom burger bun with teriyaki sauce. Put Lettuce Leaves (as needed) on top of each bun together with the burger patties, and baste with more sauce.
7.
Top with a grilled pineapple ring, Onion Slices (as needed), and finally the top burger bun.
8.
Serve the Spicy Teriyaki Burgers with your favorite sides. Enjoy!
Author's Notes
You can use store-bought teriyaki sauce in a pinch. Add 1 tsp of sriracha to the sauce to make it spicy.
For a non-spicy homemade teriyaki sauce, omit the sriracha.
