Cooking Instructions

Step 1
Add the Red Wine (3 cups) , Orange (1) , Honey (3 Tbsp) , Ginger Paste (1 Tbsp) , Cinnamon Sticks (2) , Whole Cloves (6) , and Star Anise (1 piece) to a heavy-bottomed pot or saucepan. Stir to combine and heat over medium-high until steaming, do not let it bubble.
Step 2
Lower heat to medium and heat for 20 minutes. You can keep it here for up to 3 hours, but keep the heat low to avoid boiling the mixture. Mash the oranges lightly with a wooden spoon to release their juice.
Step 3
Ladle into heatproof mugs and top each mug with 1-2 Tbsp of Brandy (6 splashes) .
Step 4
Garnish with a cinnamon stick, a piece of star anise, and an Orange (1) , then serve warm.
