Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Cheddar Cheese , shredded

Buttermilk

Butter , melted

2 cloves

Garlic , minced

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line two baking sheets.

In a large bowl, whisk All-Purpose Flour (3 cups) , Caster Sugar (1 Tbsp) , Baking Powder (1 tsp) , Baking Soda (2 tsp) , Salt (1 tsp) and Garlic Powder (2 tsp) until combined. Add in the Butter (1 1/2 sticks) and using your fingers, rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal. Add in the Cheddar Cheese (2 cups) , then Buttermilk (1 1/2 cups) and mix until combined.

For the butter mixture topping: In a bowl, put Butter (1/2 stick) , then add Garlic (2 cloves) , Garlic Powder (as needed) and Dried Parsley (1 tsp) . Mix together until combined.

Using a one third measuring cup, scoop the biscuit mixture onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake the biscuits for ten minutes, and them remove and brush with butter mixture, and then bake for an additional five minutes until the tops are puffed and golden brown. Allow biscuits to cool on baking sheet for five to eight minutes then transfer to a wire rack. Serve at room temperature or while slightly warm.
