Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Combine Dark Brown Sugar (1/2 cup), Granulated Sugar (1/4 cup), and Unsalted Butter (1/2 cup) in the bowl of a standing mixer or other medium mixing bowl.
Cream together very well until mixture has lightened in color and is somewhat fluffy. Then add the Large Egg (1) and combine thoroughly.
Mix in Salt (1/2 teaspoon), Baking Soda (3/4 teaspoon), and Vanilla Extract (1/2 teaspoon). Add the sifted All-Purpose Flour (1 1/4 cup) and mix just until combined. Mix in Milk Chocolate Chips (1 cup).
Drop heaping tablespoons of cookie dough onto a cookie sheet, about two inches apart. Bake on a center rack for 10-11 minutes until cookies begin to brown around the edges.
Remove cookie sheet from the oven and let the cookies sit for 1-2 minutes, then lift the cookies onto a serving tray with a spatula.
