Spicy Asian Pear Applesauce
Chai-Spiced Pear Applesauce in Jar While applesauce is easy on the stovetop, it's even easier in a slow cooker. And in a slow cooker, you get the bonus of having a kitchen that smells like apple pie for several hours.
4 Asian Pear
1/8 cup Lemon Juice
1/8 cup Water
1/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/8 tsp Ground Ginger
to taste Honey
Core the Asian Pear and Apple, and chop into quarter inch pieces. Place fruit in a heavy bottom pot, and turn the stove burner to low.
Mix Lemon Juice, Water, and Honey. Add liquid mixture, Cayenne Pepper, and Ground Ginger to the pot. Cover, and let simmer over low heat for about 45 minutes, or until fruit is soft.
Transfer to a blender for a smoother sauce. Adjust seasonings, and chill.
