Cooking InstructionsHide images
step 1
Preheat the grill to 225 degrees F (105 degrees C). Put in some chunks of maplewood with the hot coals for smoking.
step 2
Remove membrane on Spare Ribs (2 racks). Rub them with Vegetable Oil (1/4 cup) and then the Barbecue Rub (1/2 cup).
step 3
Grill for 1 hour, then prepare the mop sauce.
step 4
Mix together the Barbecue Rub (1/4 cup), Barbecue Sauce (1/2 cup), Water (1 cup), Distilled White Vinegar (1 cup) to create mop sauce. Heat the sauce on a stove top until combined.
step 5
Mop the sauce on the ribs and continue to cook for another 3 1/2 hours. Make sure to mop the sauce every 1 hour on the ribs.
step 6
With a toothpick, pierce the meat in different places. If it goes all the way through then the ribs are done.
step 7
Remove the ribs from the grill and place them on a tray. Wrap aluminium foil around the ribs and let them rest for 30 minutes. Serve with sauce of choice and enjoy!
