Author's Notes

To lighten the dish, substitute turkey sausage. Ground beef may also be used in place of the sausage.

Skip the cheese to make the recipe dairy-free or lighten calories.

For low-carb pizza pasta, use keto pasta or substitute cauliflower rice.

step 4
Stir in the Dried Basil (1 tsp), Dried Oregano (1 tsp), Salt (1/2 tsp), Ground Black Pepper (1/4 tsp), Crushed Tomatoes (4 cups), and Pepperoni Sausage (1/2 cup).
step 5
Scrape up browned bits at the bottom of the pan and simmer for 5 minutes. Preheat the broiler.
step 6
Stir in the half the cooked pasta and Mozzarella Cheese (1/2 cup). Toss to combine then add the remaining cooked pasta. Toss gently to combine.
