Store the shortbread in a dry, airtight container and refrigerate for up to 10 days.

Cooking Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (80 degrees C). Grease and line a 9-inch baking tray with parchment paper, making sure the paper rises above the tray by a couple of inches.
Step 2
In a large bowl, cream Butter (1 cup) , Granulated Sugar (1 cup) , and Orange Zest (2) together with a hand mixer until light and pale, about 3 minutes.
Step 3
Add All-Purpose Flour (2 cups) , Baking Powder (1 tsp) , and Salt (1 tsp) , and mix gently altogether until a dough forms.
Step 4
Place half of the dough in the prepared tray and press it out evenly, covering the bottom of the tray.
Step 5
Spread the Orange Marmalade (1 cup) over the dough. Sprinkle the remaining dough and top with the Dark Chocolate (1 cup) .
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until light brown.
Step 7
Remove from the oven and transfer to a cooling rack to cool down to room temperature.
Step 8
Cut the shortbread into squares, about 3x3-inch. Drizzle Caramel Syrup (1/2 cup) on top. Enjoy.
