Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (80 degrees C). Grease and line a 9-inch baking tray with parchment paper, making sure the paper rises above the tray by a couple of inches.
In a large bowl, cream
Butter (1 cup)
Granulated Sugar (1 cup)
Orange Zest (2)
together with a hand mixer until light and pale, about 3 minutes.
All-Purpose Flour (2 cups)
Baking Powder (1 tsp)
Salt (1 tsp)
, and mix gently altogether until a dough forms.
Place half of the dough in the prepared tray and press it out evenly, covering the bottom of the tray.
Orange Marmalade (1 cup)
over the dough. Sprinkle the remaining dough and top with the
Dark Chocolate (1 cup)
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until light brown.
Remove from the oven and transfer to a cooling rack to cool down to room temperature.
Cut the shortbread into squares, about 3x3-inch. Drizzle
Caramel Syrup (1/2 cup)
on top. Enjoy.
