Active Dry Yeast
Ground Black Pepper
Into a mixing bowl, add All-Purpose Flour (1 1/2 cups), Active Dry Yeast (1 tsp), Salt (1 pinch), and Water (1/4 cup). Mix with a fork until mixture begins to come together into a dough, then switch to using your hands. Knead for 15 minutes.
Transfer dough to a clean bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise for 15 minutes.
Into a mixing bowl, add Ground Beef (8 oz) and Egg (1). Mix well.
Press the air out of the dough and knead it a few times. Roll it into an 8-inch log, then split it in half. Cut each half into several pieces, depending on the size you want your baozis to be.
On a floured surface, roll each piece out into a 3-inch circle.
Into each circle of dough, add about 1 1/2 tablespoons of filling. Crimp the edges and pinch them together, going all the way around. Pinch the top to close, then twist it and press down lightly.
Into a pan, heat Vegetable Oil (2 Tbsp). In batches, add the baozi. Pour over Water (1/4 cup), then cover and cook on medium heat for 20 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let baozi sit for 3 minutes.
Flip baozi out onto a plate and serve. Careful, the filling might be hot if you serve them right away!
