Step 1
Slice
Rib Eye Steak (3 lb)
into pieces.
Step 2
Coarsely grind the steak.
Step 3
Divide ground meat into 8-ounce balls.
Step 4
Roll them up and then flatten them up to form 1/2-inch thick patties.
Step 5
Heat the grill, and add 2 pieces of mesquite wood for smoking. Arrange half of the grill with coals for direct heat.
Step 6
Using indirect heat, add
Olive Oil (1 Tbsp)
and
Onions (1 1/2 cups)
with some
Sea Salt (to taste)
and
Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
.
Step 7
Using indirect heat, cook
Bacon (8 oz)
. Saute onion until they begin to caramelize.
Step 8
Add
Coca Cola (1 cup)
to the onion.
Step 9
Cover the grill and caramalize for a few minutes.
Step 10
Place the meat patties over direct heat and sear them on both sides. Leave the top off the grill and monitor the patties.
Step 11
Transfer patties to indirect heat.
Step 12
Place
Provolone Cheese (5 slices)
over the patties and cook with the lid down until the cheese melts.
Step 13
Toast the
Sesame Hamburger Buns (5)
.
Step 14
Assemble the burger by starting with
Lettuce Leaves (6)
then
Tomatoes (10 slices)
.
Step 15
Add the patties then top with
Steak Sauce (1/3 cup)
.
Step 16
Top with the crispy bacon.
Step 17
Top with caramelized onion.
Step 18
Serve immediately and enjoy!
