Step 1
Into a mixing bowl, add
All-Purpose Flour (2 cups)

Baking Powder (1 Tbsp)

Baking Soda (1/4 tsp)

Granulated Sugar (1 1/2 Tbsp)

Ground Nutmeg (1/4 tsp)
, and
Salt (to taste)
. Whisk to combine.
Step 2
Add
Unsalted Butter (1/3 cup)
. Using a pastry blender or a fork, blend the butter in until mixture forms pea-sized crumbs.

Make a well in the center of the bowl. Add
Buttermilk (3/4 cup)
. Fold into the dough.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (218 degrees C).
Step 5
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Press it with your hands until it comes together.
Step 6
Roll the dough out into a 10 by 8-inch rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.

Spread
Butter (1 1/2 Tbsp)
over the dough. Sprinkle
Brown Sugar (1/2 cup)
and
Ground Cinnamon (1 Tbsp)
over top and spread to coat evenly.
Step 8
Roll the dough into a log. Cut into eight equal sections.

Place cinnamon rolls on a 12x9-inch baking tray greased with
Butter (2 Tbsp)
. Press down lightly to flatten.

Bake for 14 minutes.
Step 11
Into a saucepan, add
Unsalted Butter (1/2 cup)
. Once warm, add
Apple (1)
. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
Step 12
Add
Ground Cinnamon (1/2 Tbsp)

Cream Cheese (1/4 cup)
,
Powdered Confectioners Sugar (3/4 cup)
, and
Vanilla Extract (1/2 Tbsp)
. Cook over low-medium heat until smooth.
Step 13
Serve cinnamon scrolls warm with apple gravy on the side.
