Add the Water (1/2 cup) to a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Add the Apple (1) and Lemon Juice (1 splash). Cover and simmer for 10 minutes until the apples are soft. Puree and refrigerate until needed.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Add the Canned Black Beans (1 can) and Apple Sauce (1 cup) to a blender. Puree until smooth. If needed, add a splash of water to get things blending!
Add the Egg (2), Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon), Granulated Sugar (2/3 cup), and Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (1/4 cup). Blend until combined.
Melt the Chocolate Chips (1/3 cup) in a microwave safe bowl. Add to the blender and blend 2 seconds until combined.
Add the All-Purpose Flour (1/3 cup), Baking Powder (1/2 teaspoon), and Sea Salt Flakes (1/2 teaspoon). Blend until combined. The batter will be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
Pour into a greased 9x9 baking dish and sprinkle over more chocolate chips, if desired. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Some ovens may take a few minutes longer.
Top with Powdered Confectioners Sugar (to taste) or Sea Salt Flakes (to taste) and enjoy!
