Chop the Garlic (1 clove) and the Onion (1).
Slice the Green Bell Pepper (1).
Chop the Potato (5) into irregular cubes.
If the cod is salted you have to desalt it. Cover the Cod (300 gram) in cold water for 24 hours for small pieces and for 48 hours for big pieces, change the water every 8 hours.
In a pan fry the garlic, onion, and pepper in Olive Oil (to taste) for a few minutes.
Add a liter of water. When it comes to a boil add the potatoes.
Cook everything on high heat for 5 minutes.
Then continue to cook further on low heat for 5 more minutes.
Add the cod, season with Salt (to taste), and cook for 10 more minutes or until the potatoes are fully cooked.
Optionally, you can add an Egg (1) and cook for a few more minutes.
