Heat half of the Olive Oil (2 Tbsp) in a saute pan over medium heat, then add Red Onion (1), Granulated Sugar (2 Tbsp), and Salt (1/2 tsp). Cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Then, add in the White Wine (1/2 cup) and cook until wine has evaporated, then add a bit more. Continue this process until the wine is gone and onions are soft and caramelized. If onions start to become crispy, reduce heat.
