Bread and Butter Pudding is a classic dessert that is rich, delicious, and easy to make. Day-old bread is combined with butter, eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Lovingly baked until golden, this pudding is perfect for warming up on a cold night!
White Sandwich Bread
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
In a mixing jug, add
Caster Sugar (1/4 cup)
Vanilla Extract (1 tsp)
Then add in
Ground Cinnamon (1/2 tsp)
Milk (2 cups)
Cream (1 1/4 cups)
. Whisk together until mixture is smooth.
White Sandwich Bread (8 slices)
in half diagonally and slather both sides with
Butter (3 Tbsp)
Assemble them in a lightly greased baking dish. Sprinkle over half of the
Sultanas (3/4 cup)
, another layer of bread, and then the remaining sultanas.
Pour custard mixture over top. Sprinkle with
Caster Sugar (1 Tbsp)
. Leave on counter for 10-15 minutes.
Bake at for 30 minutes, or until custard has set and is lightly golden on top.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
