Step 1
In the skillet, heat the Vegetable Oil (1 Tbsp) over medium heat. Once hot, add the Garlic (3 cloves) and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Step 2
Add the Whole Peeled Tomatoes (2 cups) , Fresh Basil Leaves (1/4 cup) , 1/2 tsp of Salt (1/2 tsp) , Ground Black Pepper (1/4 tsp) , and Granulated Sugar (1 tsp) . Cook for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Once tomatoes become soft, use a wooden spoon to crush and break them down into small pieces. Let the sauce simmer over low heat for 10 more minutes until the sauce is ready.
Step 4
In the pot with boiling Water (6 cups) , stir in 1 tsp of Salt (1 tsp) . Then add the Gnocchi (1 lb) and cook according to the package instructions. The gnocchi is ready when it floats to the top.
Step 5
Use a slotted spoon to transfer gnocchi to the sauce. Add Grated Parmesan Cheese (1/2 cup) . Gently toss the gnocchi in the sauce.
Step 6
Serve on the plate with more parmesan cheese on top. Garnish with basil leaves.
