Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Step 2
In a mixer or bread machine, add in all of the bread dough ingredients starting with
Water (1/2 cup)

Instant Dry Yeast (1 tsp)
,
Granulated Sugar (1 Tbsp)
, and
Bread Flour (1 1/2 cups)
.
Step 3
Add in
Milk Powder (1 Tbsp)
,
Salt (1/2 tsp)
, and lastly
Vegetable Oil (1 1/2 Tbsp)
. Knead for 20 minutes until it is elastic.
Step 4
Once done, let it proof for 1 hour.
Step 5
Remove the air from the dough on a dusted surface and shape it into a disk. Divide it into 4 pieces.
Step 6
Roll the discs into a ball. Let it proof for about 1 hour or until double in size.
Step 7
Brush water onto each dough ball and bake in an oven for about 15-20 minutes.
Step 8
Remove the bread from the oven once golden brown and cover lightly with a kitchen towel while cooling.
Step 9
To make the filling, add
Salted Butter (2/3 cup)
,
Egg (1)
,
Milk (2 Tbsp)
,
Grated Parmesan Cheese (1 Tbsp)
,
Dried Parsley (1/2 Tbsp)
, and
Dried Basil (1/2 Tbsp)
to a bowl.
Step 10
Add in
Granulated Sugar (2 Tbsp)
,
Garlic (1/2 cup)
, and
Salt (1/4 tsp)
, mix together and set aside.
Step 11
Slice the cooled buns into 8 pieces, making sure that the knife does not go all the way down.
Step 12
Fill the buns with
Cream Cheese (3/4 cup)
.
Step 13
Soak each bun with the garlic-butter mixture that we made earlier.
Step 14
Dust with some
Potato Flakes (to taste)
and pipe out more cream cheese onto the middle of the bun.
Step 15
Bake again for 25 minutes.
Step 16
Serve warm and enjoy.
