This Greek apple bread – milópita is incredibly moist thanks to all of the apple and olive oil. It is full of warm spices that are synonymous with this time of year. It’s a truly special recipe. Another bonus: it is dairy-free and easily made vegan by using ground flaxseed in place of an egg. I truly hope you add this Greek apple bread to your baking roster this fall!

Cooking Instructions
1.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Line your loaf pan (8x4-inch standard loaf pan or 9x4-inch Pullman pan) with a sheet of parchment. Set aside.
2.
Whisk All-Purpose Flour (1 cup) and Whole Wheat Flour (1/2 cup) with Simply Organic Cinnamon, Ground (1 tsp), Ground Cardamom (1/2 tsp), Ground Allspice (1/4 tsp), Baking Powder (1 tsp), Baking Soda (1/2 tsp), and Salt (1/2 tsp) in a medium bowl.
3.
Whisk Eggland's Best Classic Egg (1) with Brown Sugar (1/2 cup), Granulated Sugar (1/2 cup), Vanilla Extract (1 tsp), Extra-Virgin Olive Oil (2/3 cup), and Water (1/3 cup) in a large bowl. The mixture will emulsify and look homogenous.
4.
With a spatula, stir flour mixture into the wet mixture. Fold in the grated Apples (2) and then fold in chopped apples. Scrape batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
5.
Arrange overlapping Apple (1) on the top of the bread. Brush apple slices with a bit of Olive Oil (1 Tbsp) and then sprinkle the top with Granulated Sugar (1 Tbsp).
6.
Bake in the center of the oven until a tester inserted into the cake comes out clean, about 70 minutes.
7.
Transfer to a rack to cool. Let cool completely, about 1 hour.
Author's Notes
Keeps well at room temperature for up to 3 days.
When it comes to the spices, you can adjust them based on your personal preference. Greek baked goods tend to be pretty generously spiced, so feel free to take the liberty of leaving out allspice and cardamom if you prefer your desserts less spiced. But we absolutely love the cardamom and allspice in this cake
