Boil Winter Melon Gourd (1 cup), Banana (1 cup), and Yam (1 cup) together with Ground Turmeric (as needed), Red Chili Powder (as needed), and Salt (to taste). Once this cooks well add the Chana Dal (1 cup).

Grind together Desiccated Coconut (1 cup) and Green Chili Peppers (2). Add the coconut mix to the chana dal vegetable mix. Blend well and allow to boil.

Once boiled add Curry Leaves (to taste) and mix well.
step 4
Pour Coconut Oil (2 Tbsp) into a pan, add Mustard Seeds (as needed), and once this pops, add Dried Chili Peppers (2) and Desiccated Coconut (1/2 cup). Roast till the coconut becomes light brown in color.

Turn off the heat and add Ground Black Pepper (as needed), mix it well. Add this to the koottucurry and serve it hot with rice.
