In a pan over high heat add the
Ground Beef (2 lb)
to brown. After 2 minutes start breaking apart with a wooden spoon.
In a small bowl add the
Stewed Tomatoes (1 can)
and use a stick blender to puree them.
Season the ground beef with
Salt and Pepper (to taste)
. Once almost fully cooked drain the fat from the pan leaving only about 1 tablespoon of the fat. Add in the
Green Bell Pepper (1)
, mix and cook for about 2 minutes while continuing to break apart the meat.
Add the stewed tomato puree,
Marinara Sauce (1 can)
Tomato Paste (2/3 cup)
to the pot. Season with
Dried Oregano (1 Tbsp)
Dried Basil (1/2 Tbsp)
Smoked Paprika (2 Tbsp)
Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (1 tsp)
Kosher Salt (1/2 Tbsp)
Celery Seeds (1/2 Tbsp)
Ground Black Pepper (1/2 Tbsp)
. Turn the heat down to medium and add the
Granulated Sugar (3 Tbsp)
Garlic (1/2 Tbsp)
. Stir everything together.
Set the heat to medium-low, cover the pot and continue to cook for 25 minutes.
Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Stir in some
Liquid Smoke (1/2 Tbsp)
Fresh Baby Spinach (7 1/2 cups)
and stir. Cover again and cook for another 5 minutes. Serve with pasta and garnish with
Parmesan Cheese (to taste)
Fresh Parsley (to taste)
