Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Step 2
Sift
All-Purpose Flour (2 cups)
,
Ground Cinnamon (1/2 Tbsp)
,
Ground Allspice (3/4 tsp)
,
Salt (1/4 tsp)
,
Ground Ginger (1 cup)
and
Baking Soda (1/2 Tbsp)
into a medium sized bowl.
Step 3
With an electric mixer, cream
Unsalted Butter (1/2 cup)
and
Brown Sugar (1 cup)
. Add
Egg (1)
, beat until combined. Add
Blackstrap Molasses (1/4 cup)
, beat until combined, scraping down sides of the bowl.
Step 4
Add the flour mixture and
Raisins (3/4 cup)
and beat on low speed for about a minute, until dough comes together.
Step 5
Cover and chill for 30 minutes.
Step 6
Divide dough into two equal pieces and shape each into a 12-inch log placed 3 inches apart on the parchment lined baking sheet. Bake until golden brown and still soft to the touch, about 20-22 minutes.
Step 7
Transfer to wire racks and let cool.
