South Indian Style Tomato Rice

Heat Ghee (1 Tbsp) in a pan and temper Mustard Seeds (1 tsp) and Cumin Seeds (1 tsp) . Once they crackle, add Chana Dal (1 Tbsp) and Black Lentils (1 Tbsp) . Fry them till they turn golden.

Once golden, add the Green Chili Peppers (4) and Curry Leaves (4) . Fry for a minute and then add Onion (1) . Saute till they turn translucent.

Now add Ground Turmeric (1 tsp) , Chili Powder (1 tsp) , and Salt (to taste) . Saute for 30 seconds and then add the Tomatoes (4) . Continue to cook the tomatoes till they turn pulpy.

Then add the cooked Basmati Rice (2 2/3 Tbsp) . Mix it all together and cook for a minute or two. Lastly, garnish it chopped Fresh Cilantro (1/2 cup) .
