Baked Banana Donuts

Or Elvis style donuts. Elvis famously loved his peanut butter and ‘nanner sandwiches fried in butter. That flavor combination is held up in these baked banana doughnuts with peanut butter and browned butter frosting.

All-Purpose Flour

Baking Powder

Salt

2 tsp

Simply Organic Cinnamon, Ground

1/2 cup

Brown Sugar

•

Eggs

•

Bananas , mashed

•

2 tsp

Vanilla Extract

1/2 cup

Canola Oil

•

1/2 cup

Peanut Butter

•

2 Tbsp

Salted Butter

or a pinch of salt if using unsalted butter

Powdered Confectioners Sugar

•

2 Tbsp

Milk

or Water

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease doughnut pan.

Whisk All-Purpose Flour (1 1/4 cups) , Baking Powder (2 tsp) , Salt (as needed) and Simply Organic Cinnamon, Ground (2 tsp) together.

In a separate bowl, combine Brown Sugar (1/2 cup) , Eggs (2) , Bananas (2) , Vanilla Extract (2 tsp) and Canola Oil (1/2 cup) . Add this combination to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.

Spoon batter into greased doughnut pan about 3/4 full. Bake for 12 minutes. Place on wire rack to cool completely.

Heat Salted Butter (2 Tbsp) over medium-high heat until melted and bubbling and spitting have stopped, about 3-4 minutes.

Remove from heat and add Peanut Butter (1/2 cup) to the pan and stir. Add Powdered Confectioners Sugar (1/2 cup) and Milk (2 Tbsp) or water. Stir until smooth.

Dip smooth bottom of doughnuts into frosting and enjoy!
