Get Started

This three-level class will take you through bartender bootcamp. We start with classic cocktails that come together in just one glass, move on to mastery of the must-have tools for any drink maker, and finish with a full course on how to bring out the best of each creation’s flavors.

When you’re done, you’ll have all the know-how you need to bring the staples of your favorite local bar into your own home.

Join our 4 expert bartenders, who have taken a break from their stations at award-winning bars all across the globe to bring their coveted knowledge straight to you!

Meet Your Instructor

Match Chan, Jacki Lo, Lucky Huang, and Gary Hu have won global cocktail competitions and worked in some of the best bars in Asia...and now they’re passing the torch to you.

What You Need

Just a handful of helpful tools will get you well on your way to shaking and stirring with the best of them. Gary Hu recommends all beginner bartenders invest in a jigger to make precise measurements, a shaker to combine ingredients with ease, and a strainer to keep the final drink smooth.

You’ll also want a peeler for the perfect garnish, a bar spoon to layer flavors, and a citrus press so you can swap bottled juices for fresh ones!

If you don’t own all of these, don’t worry. There are plenty of simple substitutions that draw on tools you probably already have around the house.

Introduction to Basic Alcohols and Ingredients

Gather your vodka, gin, tequila, rum, whiskey, and liqueurs! Of course, alcohol isn’t the only element in a delicious drink. Citrus juices and peels add a pop of fragrance to many of the world’s most popular cocktails, while sweeteners like honey and syrup bring a delectable depth of flavor.

LEVEL 1 - Basic Bar Drinks

Gorgeous cocktails don’t have to be complicated. First things first, we’re teaching you how to make basic bar drinks all assembled in a single glass.

LEVEL 2 - Happy Hour Drinks

As James Bond says, “Shaken, not stirred.” A cocktail shaker is a staple tool for any home bartender, and Level 2 is all about how to use it. These tips are the key to smooth, well-blended drinks, and looking like a total pro while you make them!

How to Use a Shaker

Cocktail ingredients come in all kinds of textures and temperatures. To pour a smooth drink every time, an at-home bartender must master their most important tool--a shaker. Here are a few tips and tricks to get you moving and shaking!

LEVEL 3 - Elevated Classic Cocktails

Now that you’ve established the foundations, it’s time to get fancy. In Level 3, you’ll learn how to muddle, garnish the rim of your glasses, and make your own simple syrups.

How to Muddle

Struggling to achieve big, bold, and blended flavors in your cocktails? Muddling is the answer. This technique involves gently mashing ingredients like fruits and herbs to draw out their unique tastes and incorporate them into the drink.

How to Rim

Why eat ice cream out of a cup when you could have it on a cone? That’s exactly the way we feel about rims. Adding a delicious salt or sugar coating to your drinking glass is a simple way to take your cocktails to the next level and throw in an extra pop of flavor while you’re at it. Here’s how!

How to Make Simple Syrup

Simple syrups are simply delicious, and so straightforward to make! You can incorporate herbs, fruits, and spices to infuse to-die-for flavors that will mix easily into your drinks.
