Cooking Instructions

Step 1
Heat
Ghee (1 Tbsp)
in a pan and temper
Mustard Seeds (1 tsp)
and
Cumin Seeds (1 tsp)
. Once they crackle, add
Chana Dal (1 Tbsp)
and
Black Lentils (1 Tbsp)
. Fry them till they turn golden.
Step 2
Once golden, add the
Green Chili Pepper (4)
and
Curry Leaves (4)
. Fry for a minute and then add
Onion (1)
. Saute till they turn translucent.
Step 3
Now add
Ground Turmeric (1 tsp)
,
Chili Powder (1 tsp)
, and
Salt (to taste)
. Saute for 30 seconds and then add the
Tomatoes (4)
. Continue to cook the tomatoes till they turn pulpy.
Step 4
Then add the
Basmati Rice (2 cups)
. Mix it all together and cook for a minute or two. Lastly, garnish it chopped
Fresh Cilantro (1/2 cup)
.
Step 5
Serve it warm along with some raita or plain yogurt.
