Post-Christmas Clean Out

It’s December 26th. The presents have been unwrapped, the stockings have been put away, and there are a bunch of leftovers in the fridge. Once the family is gone and the holidays are over, what do you do with the food? Here are six ways to finally clean out your fridge.

1. Go Ham

Finally finish that Christmas ham! But don’t eat another ham sandwich; instead use your holiday ham for a creative and healthy chowder.

Don’t toss it out just yet! Use your leftover dinner rolls and bread to make croutons for salad, like this Kale Salad with Garlic Croutons. When you take the time to massage your kale salad first, the leaves become soft and silky. It's a bright, healthy salad with crunchy garlic croutons. Win-win.

5. Sugar Rush

Too many candy canes leftover? Crush them up and use them in this dessert!

6. Mash It Up!

You don’t always have leftover mashed potatoes in the fridge, but they will probably make an appearance at this year’s holiday festivities. Don’t worry if you have more dishes left than you know what to do with. With a few extra ingredients, you can turn that leftover mash into this delicious Luscious Blue and Gold Soufflé.
